About Dragonshine

We are a woven vinyl manufacturer in Zhejiang, China, making the material since 2002 and finishing it into wall to wall flooring, acoustic modular carpet tiles, wallcovering, floormats and upholstery. Our customers are distributors, architects, interior designers and flooring contractors, and everything we sell is made at our own production base.

We make woven vinyl that marries the look and feel of a natural fibre with the easy care of vinyl. We have been making it since 2002, and we design and produce it at our own production base in Zhejiang, China.

The two brands. texlyweave® covers flooring, wallcovering and upholstery: wall to wall flooring, acoustic modular carpet tiles, wallcovering, and furniture and wall upholstery. texlymat® covers mats and rugs: floormats, runners, area rugs and patio mats. Both are made from the same woven vinyl.

The yarn runs on a high-tenacity polyester core as standard, or on a fibreglass core where more dimensional stability and wider seamless runs are needed. With a wabi-sabi spirit, we coat the yarn in two tones and weave it in our own patterns, so the surface carries organic marks and quiet tonal variation: no two metres are identical. Colour is solution-dyed into the yarn, so it runs through the material rather than sitting on the surface.

We bring out over 20 new patterns a month, for our own ranges and to customers’ briefs. Performance is verified by independent laboratories (SGS, TÜV SÜD and SATRA), and the certificates and test reports, with their numbers, are listed here.

From fabric to flooring. We started out selling woven vinyl fabric, mainly for furniture, wallcovering and floormats. In 2009 we supplied the floor for the Australian Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo; that is when flooring projects became a line of their own for us.

We export to more than 35 countries, mainly in Europe, Southeast Asia and South America, and we take on more than 200 projects a year. We cater to distributors, architects, interior designers and flooring contractors, working in hospitality, offices, healthcare, education, retail and housing. Every order ships with its documentation: CE marking, EN 13501-1 fire classification and REACH test data.

Stock and custom work. A large part of the core range is held in stock and ships in as little as 2–3 weeks. Stock items carry no minimum order. Custom work takes two forms: we design to a designer’s brief, or we match a colour and texture from a sample you send. Custom production runs 4–6 weeks after sample approval, and custom orders carry a minimum order quantity; ask us for the current figure.

From yarn to finished roll

Yarn coating, weaving, backing and finishing all happen on one site in Zhejiang, so a weave, colour or width can be sampled on the spot.

Low temperature, little water

texlyweave® is made at low temperature with almost no water. Colour is solution-dyed, so it runs through the yarn and resists fading.
